Duct Tape Holiday Crafts – Die Cut Use #13 Advent Calendar

duct tape holiday crafts

This was a fun duct tape holiday crafts that I tried to involve my two year olds with.  However, I would recommend this for slightly older kids.  My kids did great at just tapping the stickers, after I put them on the window.  But a fun Duct Tape take on an advent calendar, nonetheless.

Using one duct tape scallop circle die cut in light green for each day, I added each number with a silver sharpie (I used red for the 25th).  I love the idea for older kids to stick on the number each day and draw a little picture next to the number or add stickers to decorate it.  Duct tape is highly durable and can easily being taken on and off any glass surface.  Great to reuse year after year.

Twelve Days of Duct Tape Christmas Ornaments 11

Twelve Days of Duct Tape Christmas Ornaments… #11.  This one might be my new favorite.  I love how it turned out.  I used all green almond shaped duct tape pieces as a base and then added two of my filigree duct tape die cuts in red.  It’s a perfect fit and just looks cool spiral scrolly all over… I love it!

I really want to do a whole tree in variations of this ornament.  I also love the idea of adding my filigree duct tape die cut to any old ball ornament for a fun makeover!

Twelve Days of Duct Tape Christmas Ornaments 10

Wow!  We made it to ten duct tape Christmas Ornaments!  And a what a strange little number 10 it is.  I loved the idea of this design, but it didn’t quite turn out how I thought it would.  However… I kinda like it!

dr. seuss ornament

It reminds me of a Dr. Seuss landscape a little, or even Charlie Brown’s shirt, I can’t decide.  It would be cool in other colors too.

poinsettia ornament

Again, I love how the concentric almond shaped pieces make this really cool poinsettia looking flower on the top and bottom.

Just two more to go.  Join me for Twelve Days of Duct Tape Christmas Ornaments.

Twelve Days of Duct Tape Christmas Ornaments 8

Just a small variation from yesterday’s Winter Wonderland, today’s duct tape Christmas ornament features my lattice duct tape die cuts.  Still using the small almond shape pieces all over in white, I added the lattice duct tape die cut (cut in half) in shiny silver to the center perimeter of the sphere.  I love modern looking geometric shapes and I’d love to try this in different colors.

I’m discovering that I only think in two color combinations for Christmas.  What are your favorite combinations?  I love the idea of non-traditional colors like pink and blue, but I have a hard time pulling them off.  I’m very curious how people decorate their tree and home.  Share your ideas here.

As always, contact me for more details on this and other duct tape holiday crafts.  Join me tomorrow for a new take on the Christmas ball ornament as we continue our Twelve Days of Duct Tape Christmas Ornaments!

Snowy and Glimmery!  This was actually the first duct tape Christmas ornaments I made using oval cutouts I had leftover.  I love how it looks like feathers.

I love this color combination, but I’m not sold on the pattern.  I think it needs more silver, but I’m not sure where.  Tell me your ideas.

Twelve Days of Duct Tape Christmas Ornaments 5- Die Cut Use #12

Here’s my new favorite two-fer!  This fun and easy duct tape holiday crafts is #5 in my Twelve Days of Duct Tape Ornaments and #12 in my journey to find 101 uses for scallop circle duct tape die cuts.  And what a cute little two-fer it is.

I simply cut a circle in two of my scallop circle duct tape die cuts (in this cute red and white candy cane pattern).  Then I cut two small picture to fit the holes and taped them together like a picture frame.  This is a two sided ornament!  You could put a photo on one side and a message on the other.  You could also add a clear window protector on top to preserve the ornament forever.

I also just thought about a quick way to do this without having to cut the duct tape.  You could also just cut a picture in a circle and tape it on top of the scallop circle duct tape die cut.  This way wouldn’t be as clean cut, but would give the same effect.

Wouldn’t it be fun to do a whole tree of these in different colors?  Ok, that’ll have to wait for next year maybe!!

I’d love to hear from you!  Tell me your ideas and how you would turn this scallop circle duct tape die cut into a fun and easy duct tape ornament and duct tape holiday crafts!

Twelve Days of Duct Tape Christmas Ornaments 4

Day 4 of Twelve Days of Duct Tape Christmas Ornaments.  This is my new favorite design!  Inspired by my neighbor (the ultimate FSU fan, GO SEMINOLES!), I created this ornament using the Duck Brand college team duct tape and turned it into an elegant holiday tradition.  I love how the contrasting colors make this sharp poinsettia geometric design on the top.
